Position Description
Cape Fear Valley Health, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, has retained Cejka Search to recruit an accomplished and business savvy Corporate Director, Hospital Pharmacy Services.

Located an hour-and-a-half from the coast in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cape Fear Valley Health is the 8th largest health system in the state and serves more than a million patients. Cape Fear Valley Health System includes eight hospitals totaling 1,100-beds with Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital as the flagship facility and one of the top 10 busiest Emergency Departments in the United States. Cape Fear Valley Health includes over 7,500 employees and 850 physicians providing services to a six-county region in southeastern North Carolina.

Reporting to the Vice President, Professional Services, the Corporate Director of Hospital Pharmacy Services will serve in a visible role, working across multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute business plans, enhance operational infrastructure and ensure the highest quality and service metrics and standards are followed for Hospital Pharmacy Services at Cape Fear Valley Health centers as well as contracted/managed facilities. The Corporate Director will assess the external healthcare and pharmacy environments to develop short- and long-term plans to ensure Cape Fear Valley Health is well positioned for immediate and future needs while meeting all regulatory and compliance standards. In partnering with physicians and staff, the Corporate Director will support process improvement initiatives that further integrate pharmacy services into a seamless care delivery process to improve patient outcomes while controlling costs through medical management best practices. The Corporate Director will foster a collaborative, team-oriented, and educational environment as Cape Fear Valley Health, in conjunction with Campbell University, offers a Pharmacy Residency training program with acute care, ambulatory and community-based tracks. The Corporate Director will contribute to providing oversight and compliance with the 340b program.

Ideal candidates will possess at least five years of healthcare management experience for hospital-based pharmacy services within a complex, multi-site health system or large hospital setting. Demonstrated expertise in leading collaborative initiatives that result in evidence-based practices for medication management and cost reduction and patient care outcome improvements. A PharmD degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Must be able to obtain licensing as a pharmacist in the state of North Carolina.
